I am an earnest gardener who enjoys equal parts success and “learning opportunity” encounters with green and growing things! With a background in fine art and a joy of being outdoors among the veggies, flowers and pollinators of Chatham County, creativity and growth combine in the garden.

It all begins with hope. Hope that the tiny little seed that is being planted will become a thriving, living thing. I have spent so many hours making mistakes in the garden, and have also spent so much time marveling in what that little seed can become when you give it what it needs. I have journals full of notes; what were the weather conditions, how did that plant do in that spot once I moved it, what critters visited the garden and yards on that day. More notes on how much sun will this part of the yard get in the spring, or fall? Hours and hours working the soil, amending it, digging in it. All of this time outdoors brings joy, peace, inspiration, frustration, and rewards of food, flowers, and the sense of accomplishment.
